What to Know About the Upcoming Galaxy S21

What to Know About the Upcoming Galaxy S21

Trying to find information on a new phone before it is released is like trying to find a beige piece of straw in a pile of slightly tanner straw—it's not easy. However, thanks to leaks here and there regarding specific aspects of the new device, we are able to piece together some well-supported rumours about the upcoming Galaxy S21 and the Galaxy S21 Plus. These two models differ in the sense that the Plus has a wider screen than the regular S21.

Release Date

Though the range of this product won’t be released until January 14, the release date of the S21 is still up in the air. However, there is a rumour that the phone will be available around January 29.

While this seems like a particularly early release date, there are a couple of reasons why people believe the phone could be available this quickly. First of all, it passed through the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) quicker than devices tend to. There is also a possibility that they are competing to release their device earlier than competitors such as apple, that will be releasing the iPhone 13 later on in 2021.

Design

There will be some impressive design features to go along with the Galaxy S21 series. There are some quirky and exciting rumours about some aspects to be included, such as the model having a far flatter design compared to previous models. These models could also have as many as four camera lenses to utilise.

There are many similarities to the S21 and the S21 Plus; however, there are a couple aspects of the design that standout. The screen size of the S21 will be about 6.2 inches, whereas the Plus will measure at 6.7 inches.

The S21 will come in some interesting colours, such as phantom violet, phantom pink, phantom gray, and phantom white. The Plus, on the other hand, is rumoured to be coming in phantom silver and phantom black, along with the phantom violet the regular model will come in.

Features

There are also some rumoured features that will change from the way Galaxies have functioned in the past.

This new model may have a small battery capacity boost, which may or may not affect the battery life.

The storage of this new device should be more considerable than older devices, though it’s unclear as to how significant the difference will be. However, the rumours suggest the storage will probably be between 128GB and 256GB.

An exciting feature that could come with this design a voice unlock, which is another step up from facial recognition technology.

The Takeaway

It’s definitely frustrating, to say the least, that they make you wait to know what is to come of the newest model. However, it’s exciting to understand that the time they take to release the model is time they’re taking to perfect these new and exciting features.
